Wes Anderson soundtracks are some of the best and most unique around and I tend to always enjoy listening to the tracks picked. This is a collection of tracks from Bottle Rocket, The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Yow! Amen to that. Picked and chosen by Mr Anderson, then picked and chosen again for max pleasure. Thanks.
Incredible and beautiful playlist! I was literally inspired after watching Royal Tenenbaums to make a playlist - http://mog.com/playlists/69460
I like yours much better.
Definitely think about adding Nick Drake and Seu Jorge (http://mog.com/albums/mn5770461/seu-jorge/the-life-aquatic-exclusive-studio-sessions-featuring-seu-jorge)
Thanks
Thanks, Chocodile! I thought of adding Seu Jorge but then decided it would be too Bowie heavy for me -- I know a crazy statement of course since Bowie is a god. Nick Drake also just didn't have the right vibe for me since I wanted to really stick with Wes Anderson's more upbeat quirky storytelling style. Nick Drake is amazing but "Fly" was played as Richie left the hospital and had just tried to kill himself and some of the favorite parts of soundtrack music for me is thinking back to when you heard that song in the film. Nick Drake would definitely make you think of the sadder moments which is good but not what I was going for. Really my favorite characters have always been of the more brave and strange variety and I would want to listen to this soundtrack and think back to Richie's love for Margot and not his suicide attempt.
Also, thanks for the shout out freeling :)
Love it!
Great mix! Don't forget "Ooh La La" by the Faces. One my favorite scenes of any movie is the final scene in Rushmore, when Max and Rosemary dance to this song in slow motion, and she has this look of awe and respect on her face as finally recognizes the genius Max truly is.
Oh my god yes! Thank you sooo much yardfulofbirds! I have been trying to remember that song this whole time and it was really bugging me actually I had thought about it this morning and am really glad you left me the comment . . . now just to figure out placement. Hmmm. . .
