Avg Rating 5.0 (3 ratings)

1960's mod subculture included: fashion (often tailor-made suits); pop music, including African American soul, Jamaican ska, and British beat music and Italian motor scooters. The original mod scene was also associated with amphetamine-fuelled all-night dancing at clubs. From the mid to late 1960s onwards, the mass media often used the term mod in a wider sense to describe anything that was believed to be popular, fashionable or modern. . All the music in this playlist is from the mid 60's.. There was a mod revival in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s, which was followed by a mod revival in North America in the early 1980s, particularly in Southern California. . http://www.modculture.co.uk/reviews/

This goes directly in to the playlist hall of fame for me. This is like what "The Face" in the movie "Quadrophenia" would've had on his iPod if he'd had one. Great music, well and thoughtfully sequenced. 5 stars and an A for effort!! Hope you don't mind if I make one suggestion for inclusion:

I'm sorry, couldn't resist just one more tune. You hit me where I live; this is, hands down, my favorite kind of music and The Creation one of my all time favorite bands. In 1982 the Edsel label put out a great compilation of their 45s and some unreleased tracks. The album was titled "How Does It Feel To Feel" (also the title of a track from the album) and the liner notes were written by Paul Weller. They never had a full LP released when they were active (the first time around) but the Edsel compilation is just killer. Never available in the US, not even sure if it's available in the UK anymore (I have it on vinyl but I know it was out on an Edsel CD for a little while.) The stuff that's available here on MOG is from one of their reunions; I believe that most of it is circa 1987/88 and none is (IMO) worth a bucket of warm spit. This track, "Painter Man" was a Top 40 hit in the UK in 1966. According to Wikipedia they're still out there today with all the original members in place. If I ever had a chance to catch them I'd jump at it but I doubt that they'll be at Downtown Disney anytime i
