Wow this is one of the most honest lists I've seen for the 80's. Thanks for compiling!
Thanks for listening. I tried to be pretty thorough and embrace all genres. There were a lot of facets about the 1980's and 1981 was a world of difference from 1989. In that decade, there was so much that in remembering and compiling this playlist it could have gone on infinitely. Just looking at as it is, I have to keep myself from adding more and more to the already 250 songs that pad this time capsule. I know one thing, though: this list sounds like ALL of the 1980's - not just the new wave, or pop, or punk alone - everything. The only thing missing is all the sitcoms. lol.
Yeah you definitely took into account the huge changes that happened over that decade and squished it well into a mere 250 songs.
When I was reading through the list remembering where I was at when I heard them I realized some of those songs fell under what a friend of mine calls "guilty pleasure" songs. They are those ones that I liked to listen to but wouldn't admit publicly at the time :) Endless Love by Lionel Richie? Uh..., no way I wouldn't ever listen to that (nervous laughter).
Yes- this is an incredible compilation of that time. Good job. Thre was so-o-o-o much going on in any number of musical genres that it had to be this mixed. I agree with tomjnsn in his "guilty pleasure" songs. My party buddies an I listened to the Dead, Little Feat and that sort of music but I was still exploring all types of music and if the song moved you that was good enough.

Really nice list. A lot of these I had forgotten about and they are really great. Wont find all of these on the record companies 80's compilations and thats the best part!
