"OEDIPUS SCHMOEDIPUS" is viewed by its creator as the conclusion to an "unconscious trilogy" of albums that started with "Moss Side Story" and continued with "Soul Murder". "With each album there's been a piece, or a series of pieces, that have led to an idea for the next, opening up another direction. For "OEDIPUS" I wanted to mix them all up in one big melting pot." Certain tracks from "OEDIPUS SCHMOEDIPUS" were originally conceived as a soundtrack to a film that was to be directed by Adamson, based upon a script he had written. When this project was abandoned, he wrote further compositions and reworked others to form thematically linked, yet separate pieces which comprise "OEDIPUS SCHMOEDIPUS".
