And finally....
My final lazy bones raid on youtube....This lovely duet from French Pop's premier Mod chanters is a cover of Dutronc's 'Tu Aimes Les Garcons' and eschews soppy platitudes in favour of screwball dialogue. Witty and sharp (probably!) and wholly appropriate for the time. Their relationship is (was) especially novel by today's standards, because they actually were in love! Or at least there was, ehem, issue.Anyway, I love Francoise' nasal reference to Jacques' Et Moi, Et Moi, Et Moi hit single, which seems to cause him some kind of old man spasm. Or does she bring out the monkey in Mr Dutronc? He's a funny bugger, but the filles, they love 'im, don't they? Still, it's good to see the old chantuese let her hair down a bit! It's hard work being all Left Banke and serious all the time! Which does explain the exuberant I-haven't-danced-since-I-was-five-but-if-this-jiggle-was-good-enough-then-it's-good-enough-now dance that she does. Stll, she's hardly got the best choreographer next to her! Only Nino Ferrer was a bigger looney! Vive le pair of 'em!Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan?
