WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Somebody else who's back catalogue should be properly re-issued...

...even if only for my sakes! This isn't her best song - her own compositions were superior IMHO - but then there's very little footage of Ms Gentry, especially since she went into hiding years ago. This footage is from her Top of the Pops (long running UK Top 40 music show) appearance in 1970, which the BBC had the good sense to delete - along with most of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore's shows, the moonlanding and the first TOTP broadcast, featuring some losers called the Rolling Stones and The Beatles. Still, the 4.30 from Sandown needed capturing for posterity!Fortunately for pop historians and fans of big hair everywhere, a German TV show, featuring a host who I suspect may be a little enamoured of himself, broadcast the whole shebang, live via the Sputnick satellite feed. Punters gagging for a look at the arse end of swinging London got to see AND hear ruggedly handsome 'disc-jockeys', like Jimmy 'The Wig' Saville and Dave 'The Disc' Crabtree, introduce bands made entirely out of orange and purple nylon.A warning to younger viewers, lovely Bobbie's hair and make-up may appear a little unusual to you, but remember that the past is a foriegn country, they do things differently there.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGX9e5fzh7cAnd the crowd goes wild.
