Felt Video

Posted over 3 years ago
I worked in the MTV library for about four years and I never came across this. It must have turned up recently, I don't know. Of course it's a rubbish video, more a home movie really*, but they never wanted to make promos from what I can remember. A contractual obligation perhaps? Maurice Deebank looks like Phil King though, which would date it later...any ideas, or are you all too young. Or not bothered...Probably not bothered!*Having said that it wouldn't surprise me if Anton Corbjin or Derek Jarman directed it. Then again...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhf9v8JgtSwFor those of you that think this a little effette, this may be more to your liking. The words to the first verse alone are solid gold

  1. C-Mor Kinkadoink says One of my favourite records back in them old days was the Cherry Red Compilation - titled "Pillows and Prayers"which was my first introduction to Felt, Eyeless in Gaza, The Marine Girls, Everything but the Girl + more. Thanks for previewing that Felt video. I think that's Liz Frazer of the Cocteau Twins singing the back up. LOVE YOUR POST!!! GOD JOB!

  2. ye-ye girl says More of a comment to C-Mor... Pillows and Prayers! yeah! Stumbling on hat Picture LP had a profound affect on me in high school. Felt, Tracy Thorn, Ben Watt, Marine Girls, Kevin Koyne... and yay for that Monochrome Set song. I love that comp.

  3. pip68 says I remember "Pillows and Prayers". Felt were also on Creation's 'Doing It For The Kids' comp' which was inspired by said Cherry Red LP. There was a video compilation of PP that originally featured a promo for 'My Face is on Fire' which rumour has it Lawrence had removed....btw fyi that is Liz Frazer on back up vocals - it was that which helped make PP a smash hit UK indie number one with a previously disinterested public. If you like Cherry Red and the Monochrome Set, you should check out El records - if you haven't already that is!
