I've been listening to the M.I.A. song, 'paper planes', on repeat for a few days and despite generally liking M.I.A., I just think this song is hella catchy. I was totally blasting it while driving to work, which makes me super white. Maybe they should put me on Stuff White People Like.I also love the irony of a super poppy song that's all about being a hustler.
So, Trent Reznor is the only "rock star" for whom I would have millions of babies, so that's my disclaimer on here.Anyway, i like this stripped version of right where it belongs from with teeth. while i love all NIN, i really connect more with the slower stuff and calmed down stuff, and i think this is beautiful.I love trent's voice on here. and the chilled out instrumental. it almost feels ...
So, here's another of Tickle Me Pink's songs. My friend Alex was explaining how they're scene, not emo, because they're suburban white kids who don't sing about how not fair it is their girlfriend broke up with them, but instead sing about wanting to kill their ex for breaking up with them. I'm glad that's the way I know how to differentiate scene from emo. Those scene kids are classy. This song
So, Tickle Me Pink is a band from Ft. Collins, Colorado who my friend Alex told me to listen to. They sound vaguely emo. If I were to place them I'd say they're a mix between Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard, and something else that I can't put my finger on. The song 'Typical' is totally about being disenchanted by the person you're dating/person you used to be in love with because they're using you
So, I downloaded Radiohead's new album 'In Rainbows' and I haven't had enough patience to get through the whole thing yet. I really like Radiohead, but once I can actually sit through the album, I'll let you know what I think. I suppose this post isn't a good sign, though.
So, I like Kanye's new album. Most of the songs are phenomenal with only two or three I don't totally love, and they will probably grow on me. The beats are a departure from Late Registration and College Dropout because of the more electronic feel on some of them, but on songs like "The Glory" "Everything I Am" and "Champion" he samples gospel or 70s jazz, and it's brilliant. I think "Homecomin
This young french woman sings about wanting to kill the girl the guy she liked decided to date. While I generally don't think people should have the urge to kill people who didn't actually do anything, I like the sentiment of the song. Next time, she should change the lyrics and just title it "I'll Kill You".
