WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Arthur Lee Benefit Concerts

Posted over 3 years ago
There are few albums from my high school years that I can still tolerate listening to. There are even a smaller number of these albums that I DO listen to. And there are only a handful albums from that era that I still religiously listen to once or twice a month. The three Love albums fall into that latter category. Love is also one of those bands I was into in high school that I never thought I'd ever see live. The '90s reincarnations were really Arthur Lee and bands but, though ups and downs, I have been religously going to the show as they come to San Francisco. The 2002 show at GAMH where they had the norwegian string quartet and horns and played Forever Changes in its entirety was breath-taking. I cried when Arthur Lee sang Old Man and reminisced about Bryan MacLean. Arthur Lee has no insurance and has Leukemia. A few benefits are coming up. Try to go to one:http://www.love.torbenskott.dk/benefit_2006.aspI'll try to go to the LA show at the Whiskey-a-Go-Go since no SF shows are in sight.
