I like the short spacey tracks on Fly Like an Eagle. Is there anything like that on The Joker?

I always thought it was "properties of love" ... never did "puppetutes" or "pulpitudes" come to mind.

Despite decades of record collecting and an intense music-listening habit, there are always those artists who seemed to slip through the cracks. You've read the critics' praise, heard of the drug-induced demise and you've thumbed through the LPs in the racks but never picked one up.

After thirty years, I finally picked up Hang On to a Dream which compiles all his early material. Great stuff...particularly, "How Can We Hang On To A Dream". I read that Hardin was totally against adding the strings and admittedly on some songs it is heavy-handed...but on this title track it is simple and makes the song truly haunting...a masterpiece

At first I thought, old man, you're slowing down. But since the song reloads everytime I toggle back to your post, it's gotten to really grown on me. Is the rest of it less string-heavy?

Not much since the band broke up after drummer's suicide. I saw them in Austin back in 94. They were OK.

Much like you i LOVED Miki, and i was stoked to find that she recorded a song called Smile for an artist called Flat 7. The tracks was mixed by none other than Robin Guthrie of The Cocteau Twins.

You can request it online at Auralgasms Radio. You should hear it within about 15 minutes.
