Okay, I realize we're closing in on mid-March and The Ettes played at the end of February, but I was busy driving around in a snowstorm for six hours last Thursday and I only just recovered, mentally. Oh, and I went on a drinking binge too. You know, the kind induced by skiing. It goes like: Wake up early, skiing, lunch, beer, skiing, bar, beer, dinner (liquid), scotch, bed. Repeat.
So...
Sorry it took me so long, BUT I've just posted photos from The Ettes Toronto show at Lee's Palace. Loved it. I had trouble getting my lens away from the drummer (Poni), which explains why there are so many photos of her. Beautiful!
Come check out the rest of the shots and the short review:

Heh - they are going on my "to check out list" because of your pictures of the drummer. She looks like she kicks serious ass.

The problem is that the songs on their MySpace don't do their live show justice. I hear that their most recent album does a pretty good job, though. I need to get a hold of that and give it a good listen. But, yeah, that drummer... she made the show for me.

I'm with Ash. Especially that black & white pic of hers got me sold :)

@LadyC: The Ettes are actually from Los Angeles. And, yeah, their online tracks just don't sound like their live show to me. The promoter said that the tracks they chose to put up weren't the killer tracks off the CD. I'll have to listen for myself to find out...
I see they released a CD last September: Shake The Dust... I'm going to see if I can get a copy. Once I get around to that, I'll report back. If you happen to hear some more, let me know what you think.
Either way, they're definitely worth seeing live, even if just for the drummer.
