WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

The Frames

I can't believe I forgot to post this here a couple of days ago when I published these photos from The Frames concert. Please come read the full article, but I have to say this band was so brilliant. I'd only heard their most recent album, which I like, but they blew me away. I'm now a bona fide fan of this band.

  2. petenema says I've been dipping into their back catalog now (as a result of the show), and I can hear their progression through the years. I think they've reached a muscially defining point. Although longtime fans might not think The Cost is their best work, there seems to be something extra in it for me. Of course, I haven't made it through their entire back catalog yet, and even when I do, it will have been only one listen. So it's not really a fair judgement yet.

  4. petenema says chucky, I think I'm figuring you out. The Frames are definitely too mellow for you. You like the Kaiser Chiefs right? I'm looking at my upcoming schedule, and trying to figure out what else you might like. The Kooks? Maybe! Silversun Pickups? Hmm... not sure, kinda mellow. How about Finger Eleven? Too mainstream? Tapes 'n Tapes? Maybe. How about Fountains of Wayne, Kings of Leon. Or wait... I'm so geared up for Built To Spill, they're coming to Toronto in July and I'll be there (assuming I don't get killed between now and then). Thanks on the comment about my photos... just wait until you see the next batch: Deerhunter. I'll post that soon.

  5. chucky says Yes I do like them. The Kooks are on my list of bands to check out and so are Kings of Leon. I vaguely remember not liking Silversun Pickups and Tapes n' Tapes but now I'm intrigued and am adding them to my list to see. Thanks:)
