NOFX Live at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on 10/17/08

A few of us went to see NOFX last Friday at Starland. It was pretty damn good! Considering it was the first time I ever saw them play for more than a half hour at a time (i.e., not at the Warped Tour). Fat Mike was very out of it - he and El Hefe kept referencing the fact that Mike had been doing coke and ecstasy for a week straight. To start off the show, he said something along the lines of "This will be the greatest night of your lives... and I won't remember any of it." Despite that, it was a very entertaining show. The guys were funny, and interacted with the crowd quite a bit which, again, was quite entertaining. They played a couple songs that didn't sit well... they stopped playing "Shut Up Already" halfway through because Fat Mike thought no one was enjoying it (I've never heard of that song either... I just remember that he said it was about vegans and "meat is murder.") But for the most part they played crowd pleasers like "Bob," "Linoleum," and Chris particularly enjoyed that they played "Fleas." My personal favorites were "Moron Brothers" and "Kill All the White Man." They also played a song that they wrote to be the New Jersey state song that was enjoyable... does anybody know what song that actually was? And last but not least, they played "Theme From a NOFX Album." Eric Melvin played the accordion for that song, and ended the show with a wicked accordion solo. Watch a crappy video I took of "Theme" here:
And check out some crappy pictures from the concert.
