Artists You Should Know About
Posts
If you are considering catching one of the Spice Girls' reunion shows, please consider giving your money to a local charity instead. God knows, I loved the Spice Girls as much as the next 9 year old girl(a little TOO much), but really. I'm sorry.
Anyway, listen to this song and forget everything I just wrote

Bad title... I tried. Anyway, you get the idea- it's about The White Stripes and how wicked they were. The night began a little rough, freezing outside (without jackets or umbrellas) in the rain and hail in Vancouver from 4:30 (as the doors were to open at 5) until 6:30. We moved like sopping wet slugs. Bad simile, but, again- you get the idea. Anyway, it was me and three of my best pals (the same ones I went to see the stripes with in aug 05! it was a reunion!). At 6:00 one of us finally mustered enough energy to go back to the car and grab an umbrella...and only minutes after he left, a man bellowed, "no umbrellas are permitted in the park!" Sooo needless to say, that man is lucky he's still alive. But we met up with our umbrella-retrieving friend in the park just when it stopped raining at 6:30 and he had dry sweaters for all of us! I'll skip over talking about the opening band... as I'm not even sure who they were... Dan.. Something. Enter Meg with a black beret, red scarf and two baguettes in place of her drumsticks and Jack with a white guitar with a red maple leaf-shaped pickguard (i don't know much about guitars, otherwise i'd be more detailed with you). They opened with Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground and plunged through the night with most of their other wicked songs. Meg even sang Cold, Cold Night! If my memory serves me right- the only song they played off of Get Behind Me Satan was Denial Twist(my fav, anyway). They were amazing and definately more energetic than the last time I saw them (in a seated theatre where dancing was a no-no :S)! We even made it up to third row by the end of the night! Great times had by all. For sure. FOR SURE. So moral of my story is that you should see them live. aaand it should be outdoors. aaand it shouldn't be pissing down rain when you're waiting in line for two hours.
Good Day!!
Well I've never posted anything before so, I'm not sure what the "standards" are... ANYWAY I just got home from seeing Metric and it was awesome!! I wasn't a huge Metric fan before last week, in fact, I probably couldn't have named 5 songs. However, I'm really impressed! Emily Haines was fucking adorable. Plus, they had Sebastien Grainger (former member of Death From Above 1979) open for them. So that was pretty cool too! After the show, I even got his autograph...my first autograph... I'm pretty lame. Anyway, now I'm just looking forward to seeing the White Stripes again, next month!!! Can't wait for the new album!

Was Jack in fine voice? I've heard mixed reviews of this tour.
He didn't sound bad, by any means. I did notice that he tended to stay in a 'safe' range, though. You know? He didn't really 'give 'er' as much as I've seen him in old shows. He sort of sang most of them the way they're recorded on the albums... which is okay- just could've used a bit more oomph. But he was pretty cheerful and he played one mean guitar, so it made up for it! :)
