Lovedrug, hailing from Ohio, is easily one of the best live acts I've ever seen. Their music is incredibly melodic but contains many unusual chord changes, backed by the piano through most of the songs. Many indie/emo bands today are trying to write songs on piano due to the mass appeal of something different than the typical drop-d tuned guitar followed by a whailing front man. Lovedrug can actually play their instruments, which may have played some part in their ever-growing fanbase throughout the last 3 years, or the Columbia Records deal of recent. When lovedrug takes the stage, excitement is sure to fill you. Michael Shephard, leadsinger/guitarist has a raspy well-ranged voice that is sure to leave an impression on the listener. check out www.lovedrugmusic.com for updates/tours.

I got into Lovedrug earlier this year and saw them live in August. They do put on an awesome live show. And "Pretend You're Alive" really doesn't sound like a debut album. It's got such depth, both musically and lyrically, that it sounds like a veteran band at its peak. I can't wait to hear the next album.

they play a few different songs on their website but the first one (as you may have guessed by now) is ghost by your side off their new ep...awesome, awesome, awesome
and I totally agree autohypnosis about PYA not sounding like a debut album. they have so much talent and to spring into the musical realm with that album is absolutely stunning
