Artist: Album: Through The Past Darkly

I bought this on vinyl when I when I was about 13. My first purchase of many. I remember it came in an octagonally shaped sleeve. The songs speak for themselves. I recall Honky Tonk Woman being my favorite at the time, but that was before I discovered Exile or Let it Bleed.

Artist:

Thought I knew every 80's alternative band that ever was. MOG showed me something I didn't know: Let's Active. That's some jangly, power poppin' goodness. Excellent songwriting and playing too. And thankfully, very little of that crappy overwrought, echoey 80's production.

Artist: Album:

I discovered the Weight on the Rhapsody alt-country radio feed a few months ago. The song was "Ships.: The lead singer's voice grabbed me instantly. Its a very distintive drawly sort of baritone that goes off-key every so often in a most delightful way (not sure if he's doing it on purpose). Great writing, great playing and great production on that one song. So I started listening to the rest of their one and only album, "Ten Mile Grace." Great stuff, especially the other standout song which is the title track. Anyway, I googled the crap out of these guys and found NOTHING, save for their myspace page and a review in some obscure online punk zine. Unbelievable. Anyway, I hope others will pick up on how great these guys are - they deserve to be heard.
