Can you really play that guitar ?

I was (kind of) watching the brazilian MTV Awards last night , when the unfunny host (is that a rule, MTV ?) announced Bloc Party. Altough I'm not a fan or even listener of their albums, it caught my attention and after a few seconds I realized it was an obvious playback "performance".

I wondered if this was the band's decision or MTV's but in any case, the band was booed on both songs. It seemed like during the first song they were trying to conceal the fact that it was a playback, wich I think is impossible, especially when they were so close to the audience. When they realized they were not convincing anyone, they let go and went through "Banquet" hardly playing or singing into the microfone, mocking the whole thing. According to local newsite, it was the band's decision to do the playback.

While I don't care for them, it was pathetic. Playbacks are pretty disrespectful to your audience, even when you're Madonna or Britney Spears. I never thought they were that kind of band.

"I'm Good, I'm Gone" - the new video directed by Mattias Montero

Creepy video fo a great song. Those body builders will haunt me tonight...and hey, Lykke is cute, isn't she ? Well...maybe not your type...very sexy, me thinks.

That is quite creepy. I find the twins the most disturbing, especially when they 'vibrate'. But somehow matches the song doesn't it?

Absolutely, John ! I forgot to mention her album was produced by Bjorn from Peter, Bjorn & John. I guess that's him singing at the begining

Weird, to say the least. People are raving about her on Mog of late. I don't have an opinion yet.

Maybe not the first band you think about for a rainy day like today...but "Road To Rouen" fits well enough. Supergrass is one of those bands my uber-intellectual friends despise. Wich usually means they never listened to them, of course. They have 5 albums (and one collection of hits) out and I can tell you: not one of them is bad. These Brits love pop music and they can mix the shit out of their influences without ever sounding like anything but Supergrass. Since I'm a sucker for good melody and musicianship, I'm a lover. Here, have some "Roxy"

I like many of their songs. Especially Moving, also good for a rainy day, methinks...
