Item 1: Gimme Some Money, by The Thamesmen
Item 2: Got My Eye on You, by Brian Jonestown Massacre
This isn't the only song to employ those awesome bratty/whiny vocal stylings, but for some reason this one has the strongest Spinal Tap resonance for me.

I think blur and early church tracks have the strongest connection to my ears.

Well, as we all know, The Thamesmen, and later Spinal Tap, were very influencial in the rock genre for many years. Even today, influences from The Thamesmen's 1965 classic "Gimme Some Money" reverberate throughout many songs. The question remains: Would the music still be as influencial if John 'Stumpy' Pepys hadn't died in that bizarre gardening accident? Brian Jonestown Massacre is but one band whose influences are rooted deep in the bowels of mockumentary rock.

God...that Thamesmen clip is AWESOME. I'm still making that face as I type. And nice connection.
