Isn't that an awesome illustration? I am really liking their new record, despite it being perceived as flabby by CERTAIN cranky people! :-)

Admittedly I am not a huge FF fan, but I do enjoy their music quite a bit. Cranky people can eat poop as far as I am concerned. Like what you like and don't like what you don't like. No need to rain on the people who do like if you don't like is what I think. ....I think that makes sense. Does it?

I hear ya brah. I haven't listened much to Foos newer stuff, but just pretty much like their sound. I like Grohl's energy. Plus that reviewer was just hitting below the belt! sheesh!

You know I've been a Foo Fighters fan since day one and I must say that as time goes on the music becomes more pretentious with each album. I was incredibly disappointed, maybe even so far as being pissed off with their last one, the double album. I just think Dave Grohl's ego has just gotten so big, the music just can't get out of the way of it. I have this new album, and it's OK, but I don't think it's all that great. I dunno. I do know, however, that their cover of _Baker Street_ is truly some of the greatest shit I've ever heard. But that was a long time ago.

Hey Lester, Seems a lot of people have said that Grohl's got a huge ego problem, I need to read some interviews with him to see what's up with that b/c I have a pretty decent pretensia-meter. This new record is definitely formulaic, but it's the Foo's formula, ya know? And I like it. I am not saying it's a classic or anything, it's just easy to listen to and I guess I have always liked their sound. But you're right-their old stuff was really something great and maybe we expect so much of them based on the old days. Thanks for your insight (incite?) it's always great to hear other people's opinions. :-)
