No, not that Moses but this kid, whose selfless act redeemed mankind in my eyes today. I know there many, many depressing & traumatic things going on in the world right now and in the past...but after the greed induced savagery at Walmart yesterday (can't even bring myself to link to the story, it's so awful), this news restored some faith in my fellow man. And not only did he do something really great, he even sounds humble and wise.
Supermarket Bag Boy Returns $10,000
(Nov. 29) - A grocery bagger turned in a bag full of cash he found on a bathroom break at his Federal Way, Wash., store, KOMO reports. Moses Baranuic, an immigrant from Moldovia, said he had a fleeting thought about keeping the booty -- "but there's way more riches not to keep it," he said.
"I've always been considered a pretty good worker, so now there's even more
respect. People trust me even more today, so I don't regret it because maybe I
didn't get the $10,000, but I got something you can't buy with money."

damn, that would have been tough to give up but like him I would have done the same thing. Maybe they will let him stop wearing that vest now
It would figure that Moses would know and abide by his Commandments. "Thos shalt not covet thy neighbor's $10,000."
The kid is mad, of course you can buy respect with money! ;)
(j/k!)
What happened at Walmart???
Anna, i don't know if I want you to pollute your mind with this ugly story about the deadly walmart stampede of greed...but here it is:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/11/29/black.friday.death/index.html
Rawk: of course you know I am going to share this story with my students...it will fit in just beautifully with our Ethics Education initiative.
Mike: Hmm...you must be a Bible scholar! I didn't know the commandments were that specific! :-)
That's one of the scariest things I've ever read, and keep in mind that I am a horror literature junkie. I just can't believe it.
Anna, I know...i can't stop thinking about it. And I am ALSO a horror lit junkie as well...i think that's why I like horror fiction, especially paranormal or Gothic fiction, because they are so "out there" and take me out of the "real" world. The nonfiction horror stories are much harder for me to bear, because they are so real. (we should share book lists!)
