Michael Stipe would not be amused.

Grrr. Today driving home I left my ipod in the back seat and couldn't get at it without causing injury to myself or other motorists, so I turned on the radio to the local "indie-college-urban-folk-rock- publicly-funded" station. And they were playing R.E.M. Yay. One of their new tunes from Accelerate, which I love and have heard round these parts. So after the song, one of those faux-folksy, mealy-mouthed DJs, (you know the kind who insist on refering to their  listeners as "folks") goes, "That was REM with a track off their new album (they always say "track" in this precious irritating way)...blah, blah, blah...hmmm... you know...R.E.M. is really maintaining relevance." For the love of pete!  Of all the things you could say about REM that has got to be one of the lamest. Pfft.

hahahahaha............here is something kind of funny as well. I went looking for this album at my local record store the other day. Its a great store, but alas I could not find REM anywhere. When I asked the "hipster" clerk where they might be he told me to look in the classic rock section.

Is everything before 1990 now considered 'classic rock'? This means I'll have to completely refile my records if they're to maintain relevance.

As if DJ's haven't passed the point of relevance long ago...

And all this time I've been trying so hard to maintain irrelevance.
