besides both having cute munchkin voices? Well, it has just come to my attention via Retrocrush that Simpsons artist Bill Morrison (no relation to Jim, I assume) has collaborated with Jane Weidlin the song-writingest member of the Go-Go's to create a new Super Heroine, Lady Robotika for a graphic novel. Here's an interview with her and Alice Bag (of The Bags!) Man, did I love the Go-Go's. If I had a little girl, I would get her that graphic novel and play her some Go-Go's & if she didn't like it I would put her in time out till she did. Good thing I only have a dogter (dog+daughter).

My Trusted MOGs
Or you could have her watch Ari Up or Joan Jett.
BTW, It's nice hearing the Go-go's after all these years.
My Trusted MOGs
yes! Joan Jett is awesome..but I don't know Ari Up...who is she? Also, I adore Mia Zapata of the Gits...such a tragedy that she was murdered...makes me furious to even think about it.

Ari up was the lead singer for The Slits (one might say pioneers in Punk). She was even married to Johnny Lydon.

Check out any Youtube search for "typical girls" "slits" and you can see her. Fantastic.
And yes, Joan. It's weird because I am of the "I love Rock and Roll" generation. I even bought the 45 single. But I never was a Joan Jett fan. But now, not only am I a fan, but it turns out that two of Joan's favorite bands are mine: Lungfish and the Gits. Cheers to Joan, great taste and integrity!
Also about the Gits, I went to Antioch college in 1990 and the Gits had just graduated (It was a small school, only 400 students) and left the year before so many mutual friends we had and there was alway talk about the band (and also many other students) who started to move up to Seattle. So I remember also a lot of talk in our circle(s) of friends when she was murdered. Terrible! But I didn't become a fan (and now a very devoted one) until recently. The entire band were just so great. I mean I'm not a fan of drumming but the drumming in the Gits is just incredible, and Mia's voice goes without saying. Really few are born in an age with a sound and honesty like that!
BTW - did you post once that you kissed Iggy Pop ( was watching The Passenger video 100 this weekend)? If so, I say don't worry it could have been worse....It could have been Lux Interior. Just kidding. Anyway, GREAT taste in music.

Re Ari Up and marriage....John Lydon was and is married to Nora, Ari's mother. So John's her step-father.

Ah, domage! Yes, I guess if she was 14 in 1976, that would have been a bit young...sorry.

lol! Jonh...hard to imagine john L pulling a jerry lee lewis! (but maybe not? he's a hard one to figure out...) qball: you are the 2nd mogger I've met who's had some personal connection to Mia Zapata...it seems she inspired so much loyalty and admiration. I didn't know her and never saw her perform, but have always been struck by her amazing energy and talent...she is obviously truly missed by many. and yes, kissing Iggy was quite an "experience" but more firghtening was the fact that I also kissed the one, the only...Kip Winger! (i can't believe I just admitted that!) :-)

Kip Winger! Wow, now that is a gem. I'll try not to make a "Seventeen" quip.
BTW - Retrocrush is very interesting.
