MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

(32)

I know, I know. Seriously, I do actually listen to and like songs from this decade...but dammit, I love this song (plus how many songs have their very own wiki page?). And the fender stratocaster Jimmy Page was ripping happened to be made the year I was born.

TOTALLY cool parents! you lucky! My dad was a tad overprotective... rest his well-meaning soul...he was the police commish in town. I remember he wouldn't let me go to the rolling stones tour in like 80 or 81 (the start me up tour?) b/c he thought i got too excited when i was watching the stones on TV... he thought I might pass out and get trampled! Dad!

I'd stopped listening to Zep by this point - what with The Clash and Talking Heads and all. I'm struck by how close the beginning part is to "Into The Light". But even drugged out and worn out they still sound rockin' good. As to cool parents, my Mum gave me free reign. She just about had a heart attack a few years later when she suddenly thought what I was getting up to at these concerts. Thanks Mum!

It's so interesting to come back to these old songs again. I was like you Jonh, and was listening to the "new" music like the Cars, Elvis C, Joe Jackson & Blondie. I think I may have gone to Beegees Concert with my mom (she LOVED Barry!) around this time. :-)

Listening to it made me go and download a set of Zep albums. Happy random listening to be done over the next few days. :-)
