How come Mavis Staples wasn't invited to Obama's Inauguration? I'm so shocked... she is a civil rights era icon and an amazingly moving performer. PLUS he used her song during his campaign. I think this is a huge oversight. She deserves the honor. Hmm.

wanna flip it? why DID (fill in the blank) get invited?? while the event was meant to beautifully honor a special occasion, it was awkward.
i just wonder if it was intentional...since if it was an oversight it could have been remedied pretty quickly, no? she was a very outspoken supporter of Obama's even went to his former church...seems weird.
maybe her ticket was given to Tiger Woods. I agree with you, a huge oversite but either way I will be a happy man tomorrow!
