Richard Thompson 101 (sort of)

So, Richard Thompson has a new album out, called Sweet Warrior. Thompson has been around playing and writing music since before the days of the Vietnam war, so you can bet there's an anti-war tune on this record. Here's the thing...this man is a genuis musician...by his peers he's considered one of the most accomplished guitarists...evah. He played with Nick Drake and was a founding member of Fairport Convention...for the love of pete. I had the extreme pleasure of seeing him play live in Ridgefield CT a couple of years ago and I am telling you, this man is mesmerizing. He is like my Mom's age and he has this incredible energy and charisma...he's ageless. (My Mom is pretty amazing too, but that's neither here nor there.)
