Some complaints are flying that the Bonnaroo line-up is not worthy. The line-up. is not the same as in years past, but isn't that a good thing?
Sure, Metallica and Kanye West look strange up on top there. But I went to Bonnaroo 2006 and 2007, and even though I had incredible experiences with both, if I think about it, I wouldn't want to have the same line-up again. I've already done that. I want to try something new. There is no way I would ever go to a Kanye West or Metallica show, ever. But since they are headlining, I will. And I will get the chance to appreciate them as artists. I probably won't love either, but both sets will be great experiences. I might bug out before they are done, or, hey, maybe I will take a nap to prepare for late night. When the music appreciation experimentation stops and the fun kicks in full speed.
And speaking of great experiences, have you seen the REST of the line-up? I would make the trip for the bottom half. And it is the same every year. In my opinion, the phenomenal Roo booking team has outdone itself again. Just when I am sure that the lineup can't be better than last year, what do you know, it is. Next year I will learn my lesson. I'm sure.
And I certainly don't mean to attack people who are genuinely disappointed with the line-up. I'm cool with you feeling that way and understand. But my trip is going to be spectacular.

i could see how the regular bonnaroo festival goer's could be all up in arms about some of the bands. i'm pretty confused myself that kanye and metallica are headliners. but props to you for still being excited and open to the new genres of music that bonnaroo is including this time around.
