And suddenly, SHIPBUILDING by Robert Wyatt has just come onto my iTunes...
CHRIST - it's relentless.. I heard a rumour it's going to last until August 2008 due to trends in, errr, weather... and those weather cronies predicting bad things... while the south of Europe has a heat wave.
Oh god, I could cry just now.

Holy Frijoles! ...or Holy Beans and Chips!
We've got heatwave and drought here in the States. I think we've seen the last of Normal weather in our lifetimes. What's it going to take to get people (and by people I mean big business, corporations, government) to get off their collective arse and start building a sustainable way of living on this planet. Individual actions count, but they seem like a drop in the bucket compared to converting all cars to non-fossil fuels.

It's weird to think this is happening only 150 miles away. Oh yeah, an observation.

MsRosalita says
Yeah, am in London but it's been torrential rain here - first day of sunshine was Sunday and also today - I have not seen it as wet here ever... and have been a 'Londoner' for 8 years...
The fear of monsoons has swept in.. alas, no sandy beaches for it to drain in 20 minutes!

At least 350,000 people are without water. Severn-Trent Water said it would provide three million litres a day, and advised against panic buying. It could take up to two weeks to restore supplies.
More of a worry;
'Traditional British chips could be under threat because of the floods, a leading potato grower warned today. Up to 60% of crops are expected to go rotten because of the weather and the entire supply chain could be affected.'
