I hear there is an Exploding Hearts comp coming out soon, connecting the dots of the band's wonderful, short lived, and tragic career. I would have given anything to have seen them, and missed their Bottom Of The Hill show by inches (I was watching the Cuts at the Eagle that night, and just hung out).
Not sure if fans of the Hearts know this, but Terry Six is now leading the glam-u-liscous Nice Boys and he is moving down to Oakland (where the most mighty rock n roll scene in the country is located). Their album is just out and they are touring RIGHT NOW (played in NYC last night)...
It ain't The Exploding Hearts...it is completely different. Six has found great musicians to play with (ex members of the riffs) and the songwriting is fantastic.

So happpy to hear this! I often think of that fatefull night post The Bottom of the Hill and can't believe I missed that show as well. It always really saddened me that Terry Six was the lone survivor, and wondered if he would ever be able to produce beaqutiful music ever again because it might be too painful. So this is very good news! I will definitely have to check Nice Boys out. And because they will be so close to the Hemlock maybe they will book a show there in the near future! Thanks for the update man!

Second that...I just finished writing about Nice Boys for PopMatters and it is indeed very good...glam-infused, hooky power pop, completely different from Exploding Hearts but excellent.
Anyway, I want to live somewhere where it's possible to miss Exploding Hearts because I'm at a Cuts show.
