I picked up Rue Melo's self titled debut album at Hear Music this weekend, but I'm sure I've heard one of her songs before, probably on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic or something.It turns out that Rue Melo herself is a cultural remix, with a French mother, and a Uruguayan father, born in Paris, but growing up in New-York and now living in Lose Angeles. Her music reflects that, a mashup of diverse influences, integrating some very urban sounds with a Latin sensibility and a little French Je ne sais quoi.
