Red-Headed Stepchild?

...Anyway, I just started out on this site and all, and I'm sitting here with my computer playing on shuffle, and, by chance, had a couple tracks from Sparta's album Porcelain pop up...which reminded me.

OK, so when At the Drive-In parted ways, the members of the band wound up in two different bands: The Mars Volta and Sparta. While The Mars Volta are perfectly good and entirely justified, being held in such high regard, Sparta tends to get the "red-headed stepchild" treatment.

Personally speaking, I think that's kinda unfair. While Sparta doesn't exactly have the innovative elements of The Mars Volta, their music is pretty damn good.

So anyway, to make a long post even longer...anyone else think Sparta gets a little too little regard because they aren't quite as flamboyant as TMV? Just asking.
