Sometimes I watch House if it happens to be on. The only shows I actually take the initiative to watch religiously anymore are The Office and Law and Order: Criminal Intent but House is pretty good too. The other day I caught an episode and "Walter Reed" by Michael Penn was being played. Now, House uses a Massive Attack song for their title sequence so it's no surprise to me that they picked good music. When I looked Michael Penn up on Mog no one had written anything so I thought I'd blog and tell you that "Walter Reed" has been on my Top 25 played list ever since. It's very mellow and melancholy but also pissed off and hey so am I! The lyrics stuck out at me which is rare, I don't really listen to lyrics anymore since my obsessive Counting Crows fangirl phase but I like Penn's smooth, solid voice and the way he sings "all I want to do is hide/it's graduation day/everything I learned inside/didn't seem to pay".
I looked it up on Adtunes. You should add Adtunes to your bookmarks ASAP because next time Verizon Wireless uses a great song and you don't know what it is the forums on there will be of immense help to you, trust me.
I have no idea if the rest of his work is any good. I do know that his last album came out in 2005 and that yes, his brother is Sean Penn.
If you want to check "Walter Reed" out, you can download it here.

You sure seem to enjoy your audio-video vector. You should be a consultant for a movie director.....i'm sure you'd be good at it!
