WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Malaise

I made the terrible, horrible, hubris-laden mistake of searching for a clip from the movie Trouble Every Day on YouTube. My conscious mind was able to grasp what I was seeing, just as I would for any other horror movie. Fine and dandy there. But if one ever needed evidence of the illusion of the conscious and free will, this was it. After a two-minute clip - and, mercifully, it's the only clip on-line - my temperature immediately spiked, I broke into a sweat, and I still can't believe that all is well in the world.Opening up this mix didn't help matters, either.Xasthur: "Telepathic with the Deceased":http://images.hororo.multiply.com/song/1/2/full/U2FsdGVkX1.bZNhpB6QDg8e0tNrgv65w6ywXo.9SkWG5XqILj0GKxw==/06-Xasthur%20-%20Telepathic%20with%20the%20deceased%20%28rehersal%2011-04%29.mp3It's frightening: I won't be able to listen to metal - a least in some of its forms - without quite feeling safe any more.(Alas, I can't post samples from the OST. What little I heard was quite effective.)

  1. Spencer Owen says Claire Denis comes up now and then. I have wanted to watch some of her movies. I did not realize she trafficked in such styles as this film appears to be in and this makes her even more interesting to me from my still-haven't-seen-any-of-her-work perch. I'll say it again: MOG, an excellent reminder service.
