million ways to die

She's Norwegian, but that voice is the Smoky Mountains gone ghostly; Ane plucks words and lets them shimmer, channeling Dolly Parton, darkening dulcet tones on a dime.

Swedish and melody, Norwegian and voice, is it a steady diet of cold in those regions? "plucks words and lets them shimmer" is so expressive of Ane's music. this grown-up thanks you for the calming noon-cap.

Gorgeousity! And pretty perfect for the late-night hour when I happen to be hearing it for the first time.

I liiiike it!  That was a nice way to begin my morning.  Thanks! =)  BTW--I, too, can relate to thinking I live in Portland while actually living in NY! ha  Gosh that place just gets me...or I get it?

Portland's definitely my favorite state (city) of mind ... though I'm still relatively new to this whole New York thing, and I must say, you certainly know how to put on a lovely autumn!

Autumn is my favorite season, mostly because of the brillant colors that wash over the landscape.  I've always lived in NY though, so I often wonder what I would feel about the seasons if I lived elsewhere.

I'm with you on this, autumn's always been my favorite, as well, though mostly as a fantasy. I'm a product of the American South and West coasts, where "fall" is the day the palm fronds and/or post oaks turn a different shade of brown. :)

Now, I'm feeling jealous. Me: East Coast boy who lives on West Coast and tries to get back to his roots (and blazing fall colors) every autumn - and hasn't made the trip in since 2006. Damn.

Oh, man, I know that yearning ... it gets me whenever I stray too long from Oregon. It's been three years! You come here, I'll go there, we'll swap stories of belated homecomings. In the meantime, any East coast hallowed grounds I should seek out?

Depends on your intent. I'd just say that you'll know 'em when you see 'em. ;-)
