you won't be the last

And so I would listen to this song again. This album, in fact.I played it so often I couldn't ever imagine a time when I might not listen to it. I loved it instantly and kept it on repeat, the way I do when something strikes me so fully. I sang to it the first time I drove under real palm trees, and I remember thinking: this will be my California soundtrack. Then, and it wasn't planned - other songs, other albums happened. At first I stopped repeating, and then listening, altogether. It's funny, isn't it? The way you don't remember the end? Today, years later, I hear it in the background in a Chevron Food Mart (true story) and I catch my breath full stop. I won't do the thing where I say it was like running into an old love. But. Hello, Thrills. No one told me you were still so lovely.

  2. ngtivspace says It's odd - there are the ones you'll never stop listening to, and then the ones that burn bright, white hot, and then slip away. ~ahitb4sqIXy.mp3~
