I'm having issues with how much I love the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Like high level functioning obsession. As such of course, grabbed the soundtrack, which only makes it worse cause it's great. The fucking cello piece "Jack Sparrow" alone makes it worth the listen as it rocks and coupled with "The Kracken", I will confess to being a hoor for Electric Guitar + pipe organ (which goes back to my Andrew Lloyd Webber youth, don't ask) and the random ass Tiesto house track "He's a Pirate" what the hell else could you want from a score. Zimmer out performs himself, and after the last films weird reception it'd be nice to see him get the nod next March. The soundtrack functions superb within the movie, and in the context with scenes and fantastic production designs explodes on screen. I'm so tired of people biatching about the length- which was the same as the first film mind you- and the tone. Get real, POTC: Dead Man's Chest has some amazing plot mechanics going on and if you're confused and disoriented by something a bit more somber and pensive, maybe just go back to Dora the Explorer and shut the fuck up.Also Norrington = sex god.
