I'm digging this band a friend told me about. I think it's groovey and catchy. at the prompting of ndintenfass, i'll tell you i think i like this song because i'm an indie pop whore and because i love the ol' school (Stevie, Bee Gees, Prince). if you like them for different reasons, i'd love to hear why.

i enjoyed how much this guy dislikes Panic!'s picture and name.

do people like the concept of pulling in posts from other sites? i've seen it on other communities.

i must admit that i don't hate panic! at the disco THAT much....but that guy was really funny. i wish i could've written a post like that.

I checked out a Pani video (seeing as I have not been exposed to them before) and when I closed my eyes so I could just hear the songs I realized that there was no way a bunch of 20 something guys wrote it. More corporate pop disguised as rock music.
after rockin' out all summer long to jermaine stewart not taking his clothes off, i broke down and paid seventy-five cents for natural selection's album. much to my dismay, do anything is the only good song, although i am pleased there was a remix.
for those missing the soul train of old, reminisce to jermaine's lip sync:
as in the case of my last post, i am torn between tagging this post with two different artists. is anyone else in favor of being able to tag a post with multiple tags?

Thanks for the post! Wow, I like that sound.
Given your eclectic taste, perhaps it would be worth giving a few "if you like..." comparisons?
i thought about that, ndintenfass. coming up with comparables is not really my specialty. The All Music Guide says they take "inspiration from big-name acts like the Beatles, the Who, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, the Bee Gees, and Prince (to spout just a few)." Pandora compares them to The Lovemakers, Kashmir, Foma, Rock Kills Kid, and As Tall As Lions (I've only heard two of those bands). People listening to UTIOG are also listening to OK Go, Snow Patrol, Every Move a Picture, The Format, Panic! At the Disco, Death Cab for Cutie, The All-American Rejects, and Imogen Heap. I'd say they fit squarely within my indie pop interests, but I do appreciate the influences of old (hence the band name?). I'm a huge fan of Stevie, the Bee Gees, and Prince.
I've seen others talk about them being a genuinely new sound - who knows who will like them?
