I have recently been on an Elvis Costello binge. Everyone should be listening to him. The end.

I am not an idiot.

I happen to love music. I also happen to listen to and love the music of the Smashing Pumpkins. That does not make me dumb, an idiot, a moron, or anything of the sort. I do not call you an idiot or question your intelligence because of the music that you like. My ears and heart enjoy what they do, I cannot help it. I am not making excuses for thinking that Billy Corgan in particular is a brilliant man and for absolutely adoring the music of the Pumpkins. Really, I am not. If you don't like them, let it be. Don't listen to them, don't read about them, don't read about Billy. I do not speak ill of your music, leave mine alone. Thanks. ♥

A better version of this, with much more detail to come soon, but for now I must attempt to fall asleep. =)

I really don't have much to say right now, I just wanted to share this wonderful video. I don't know why, but it is easily one of my favorite songs and videos.

Summer Time

Warm weather, late nights, great people and music I love are what used to be the makeup of my summers. Most of it is still around, but the late nights are not as common as they once were and the "great people" don't come around as often. We all grow apart and things never go back to being the way they were. I accept that for all that it is, but the thing about great music is that great memories come along with it. So, when I listen to this great music, I start to reminisce and start to miss the "good ol' days". The days when my friends and I would sit in my backyard, having a drink (or not), chat about anything and everything, and take in the weather and the music. Of course, since it was my backyard most of the time, Red Hot Chili Peppers would usually be playing. Oh how I start to miss those days. I start to miss them even more when I start to watch their live performances.

Watching them play always gives me this wonderful feeling. I have so many great memories that I link to their shows(especially Vegas Rocks 100 a few years ago). Although I always have a great time with friends and loved ones, it is always the music that I enjoy the most. I really don't know how to explain the feeling I get when I watch them perform, but it truly is a wonderful one. Even this video ,and others, give me some of that wonderful feeling. They make me feel like I there again, like I am experiencing the greatness that they are another time. So, I guess this post is pretty much pointless. Haha. I still feel like I haven't written down anything meaningful and like I can't exactly get whatever is on my chest off of it! I haven't been able to see the Chili Peppers this year, which I guess is bumming me out a bit, but this will do for now. This video, this song, aaah. Such a great feeling. =)
