I am not an idiot.

I happen to love music. I also happen to listen to and love the music of the Smashing Pumpkins. That does not make me dumb, an idiot, a moron, or anything of the sort. I do not call you an idiot or question your intelligence because of the music that you like. My ears and heart enjoy what they do, I cannot help it. I am not making excuses for thinking that Billy Corgan in particular is a brilliant man and for absolutely adoring the music of the Pumpkins. Really, I am not. If you don't like them, let it be. Don't listen to them, don't read about them, don't read about Billy. I do not speak ill of your music, leave mine alone. Thanks. ♥A better version of this, with much more detail to come soon, but for now I must attempt to fall asleep. =)

    diplognat says Here Here! I find it absolutely amazing that people on MOG of all spaces can be so judgemental regarding other people's choices. I have an old friend who is absolutely the biggest Neil Diamond fan. While he is not my cup of tea, and I may give him some good-natured ribbing regarding it, I do not under any circumstances call him and idiot with no taste. So flip those snooty music snobs the bird and listen to whomever you like without shame. FYI- my guilty pleasure happens to be the Carpenters.
