MOG

Since we moved into our new place I've been driving myself to work. It feels like it's been ages since I've been behind the wheel. Since our cd player is not working I've been scanning the L.A. radio stations for some cool driving music. The other day, "No Myth" came on 100.3 The Sound. It's an Adult Alternative station. I've been tuned there ever since.

I remember when I used to work at Hastings Records in Texas. We'd always get the Hits magazine. I'd check the post modern rock charts and the only one that I connected with was the Adult Alternative charts, and this was when I was younger. And now that I'm older, I finally found a station that fits my manic needs.

As for "No Myth," like most, this is the one song from the album March that introduced me to Michael Penn. When March was first released, I recall listening to a radio station in San Antonio as they were giving away a acoustic guitar signed by Michael Penn. I dreamed of winning that guitar and writing many memorable hits song with said guitar. Alas, I never won and it was many moons later that I finally inherited a guitar when I lived in Los Angeles. Every time I hear "No Myth" I think back to that time when I wished for winning Penn's guitar that never came true.
