MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Staying with the nineties theme of my last post, comes this hip hop classic by Cypress Hill. Yesterday, driving home from my B-day date after the Nirvana rock block came a double shot of Cypress Hill.

It has been ages since I've heard Insane in the Brain. It reminds me when I worked at Hastings Records in San Antonio. We would sell these maxi-cassette singles. One day this chulu gang banger came into our store to by Insane in the Brain maxi single. He was short some money, I wanted to make a sale and what I would usually do is use our rain check discount that would just take off the tax. The chulu was shocked and happy that he could actually purchase the Cypress Hill tape. He looks up smiles and tells me, "Hee, if you ever need someone rubbed out, I'll hook you up, ese." He shook my hand, flipped me his gang sign and walked away. I never saw him again. Talk about insane in the brain.

That's a cool story!

I indulge myself every now and then with a blast of Cypress Hill, it was the soundtrack to our sixth form common room, that was a few years back now...
