Today I went to our local music store and traded in some discs for the newly remastered Deluxe Edition of R.E.M.'s Murmur. Michelle and I sat, reminisced while listening to Murmur. Today it rained while Murmur played as we talked and re-experienced this amazing album. It was the perfect mood with the rain falling, my baby at my side and R.E.M. turned up in our living room.
Murmur takes me back to a time when R.E.M. was still in the underground. I was working at a grocery store in high school and I remember playing my cassette copy of Murmur to death.
The sound of the remastered version is incredible. After a few spins, I've decided that Murmur is leaping into my top ten albums of all time. It's been ages since I've heard this seminal album.
One of our favorite songs is "We Walk" which reminds me of all the time we go exploring on our strolls at the canyon. I just discovered that the producers Mitch Easter and Don Dixon recorded slowed down pool balls as the thunder effect on "We Walk." Hearing the rain fall while listening to Murmur with my baby, made my day. It's moments like these that I'll always cherish.
Life is good.

Life is good, but I can't get this song to play.
I don't know what's up with Mog lately? I've been having trouble logging in, posting audio and pics. Here's a sendspace for We Walk. The remastering is awesome. You must get this reissue!
