The other day I was on the bus to work listening to Ryan Adams cover of "Tiny Dancer" and of course I thought of the famous scene from Almost Famous. As covers go, Ryan's version is just about equal to Elton's original. It helps that Elton joins Ryan to sing a few verses.
I made a mix like I usually do to listen on the bus. It's a good 45 minutes to an hour ride depending on the traffic from our apartment to Old Town Pasadena. Yesterday's mix had a few Elton John covers including Ryan Adams killer version of "Tiny Dancer." Watching yr life from a bus with a soundtrack in yr ears makes the ride a little more tolerable.
While on the bus, I smiled singing this song. How can you not smile and sing this "Tiny Dancer?" It's a classic. 'nuff said.
I need to find the DVD for Cameron Crowe's Directors Cut of Almost Famous. It's essential not only for the extra scenes but for Crowe's incredible commentary.
