I know Creep is one of the most dreaded songs in the Radiohead canon. I'll be the first to admit that because of this song, I wasn't a fan of the band at the beginning of their career.
But, after watching an interview with Ed O'Brien he said something that struck a chord with me. "Yeah, we’ve been very lucky. When you go back to ‘Creep’ - even thoug we got pissed off with it - we recouped on our first record. So we could make ‘The Bends’ without many interference. Which then led on to ‘OK Computer’, which led on to ‘Kid A’."
He's right.
So I say, let the Creep bashing cease and desist once and for all. It's been over fifteen years and I myself am, happy to say, over my dislike of the song. In fact, in honor of my new found respect for Radiohead's first hit single I'm sharing this classic cover by The Pretenders. It's my favorite cover of this once infamous song.

Oh man great video! I've never seen that before so thanks for sharing. Chrissie made it so...Chrissie. I, for one, appreciate Creep in its own rite and for taking Radiohead to where they are today. I still think it's a great song.
