BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

Artist:
Track: Smoke without Fire (with M.Ward)
(10)

Looking through the latest issue of Q at the bookstore and their theme of Duets it got me thinking on my favorite music collaborations. So many, the one that came to mind is one that Michelle and I saw in concert. M. Ward playing with Conor at the Bright Eyes show in L.A.'s El Ray, last year.

All through out that show I had heard rumors that Ward was touring and playing with Bright Eyes. Towards the end of the show, Ward came out dressed in black. When they sung together it was magic come to life. Smoke without Fire is a song that should've been on Cassadaga. It's worthy of being a single. Every time I hear Smoke without Fire it sends shivers of delight down my spine.

Word has it that Ward and Conor are collaborating on an album with Jim James helping out. I hear it may even be like some post modern Traveling Wilbury type of supergroup with aliases and all.

For now, close yr eyes and imagine seeing Conor and Ward sing this live. I had the honor of being there and it was incredible.
