There is something about this version of Life Begins at the Hop. It starts off with an extended version of the unmistakable simple yet irresistible riff. All you have to do is listen to the addictive melodies of Life Begins at the Hop and y'll discover the magical ingrediants to XTC eclectic success. They mixed the power of punk with their love of pop music's song writing sensibilities.
My favorite part in this version recorded at the BBC is right near the end of Life Begins at the Hop. Beginning at 3:41 y'll hear the "la la la la" backing harmony vocals by Andy Partridge. I'm a sucker for harmonies and this part makes the song for me.
This is a woo moment, you know a moment in a song that is so simple and grabs you. It's something that the average listener may miss but if y're a die hard audio/music-phile you live for moments like these. The "la la la la" makes it...wait for it...legendary to my ears.
"Tell me what do you say-eee?" boys and girls, give Life Begins at the Hop a spin and y'll discover the British pop genius of XTC.

I'm having helluva time uploading songs on MOG. It's getting to be a pain in the butt.
I think I fixed it.
Thanks for the heads up.

They're working on it, if you have any more problems tell them, go through the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of all pages, it's the only way they're going to know we are still have problems.
One of my top ten albums of all time is XTC's Skylarking, it's brilliant from first note to last.
