From Spin Magazine's eclectic tribute to Prince with Purplish Rain is this magnificent cover of Purple Rain. There's a very different arrangement which at first was startling yet it quickly took me over. I have to say, it's Becky Stark's who's vocals towards the climax of this classic song are simply trancendent. I never thought any one could come close to emulate The Purple One's howling vocal at the end of that song but Stark does Prince proud.
