Black Book - Blur

Today is Blur Friday, in more ways then one. I just picked up their new compilation Midlife: A Beginner's Guide to Blur and it is extremely good. I never was a fan of their Best of collection. I love the classics but what was up with the "new" song Music is my Radar? It turns out that Black Book was supposed to be the new song. But I read that at the last minute the band (Damon?) changed (his?) their minds.

Black Book has a more experimental vibe and you can hear more of the band's input. Radar has more of a spaced out Gorilliaz vibe that fits Damon but not the sound of Blur. I prefer Black Book. It has the stoner, laid back funky riff layered tone that I'm digging tonight. I love that Doors-esque keyboard sound floating through out. Great song! This is the one that should have been on the Best of.
