I dug this retro treasure from the archives of myeverpresentpast. Spanish Heart reminds me of driving around in my Jeep Cherokee Laredo after high school, with the windows rolled down and the Texas sun in my eyes while I listened to my cassette of 808 State's Ex:El. This was around the time when I imagined Bernard Sumner's lyrics were a reflection of my own life. His words still resonate inside of me. Spanish Heart has to be one of Bernard's best vocals ever. Remind me, how did he not re-record this song for a New Order album?
