Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house a creature was stirring, it was big and NO mouse!

The stuffing was flying all around in the air, in hopes that the squeaker in that dog toy was there.&lt;br /&gt;

Great music was playing, what a direction to be lead.  While visions of jazz, blues and Billie Holiday danced in my head.&lt;br /&gt;

      <title>Happy Holidays from Bing and David</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;When I was a kidlet my pop would let us watch all the Christmas specials. I remember watching this when it was on the telly and falling in love with this version of the song. Fast forward umpteen years later and I'm working my first Christmas at the Warner Brothers Studio Store and this video pops on the big screen. All of a sudden I'm a kidlet again with my eyes glued to the screen. One day I was doing some work in the jewelry boat and didn't see the customer nearby, I guess I just started singing when the song came on and when it was done I was greeting with a "you have a very nice voice" followed by me turning beet red. I looked over at the register where my boss and other co-workers were and they had these huge grins on their face. Later on my boss there would tell me how it didn't matter where I was in the store when the video came on I'd get a huge smile on my face and start singing along. The thing is, I never even realized I was doing it.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;I worked for Warner Brothers for 3 years, and they played this every year which made me super happy.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;So from me to you, I wish you the warmest wishes for the holidays and a prosperous new year.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Yep, another song stuck in my head.  Although I don't mind this one compared to the others.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;It all started with a few Mogtiplyers and a best friend that kept talking about Guitar Hero.  I finally purchased a set and too became addicted.  Then it happened.  While perusing the rentals at Hollywood I came across Guitar Hero &lt;span&gt;III&lt;/span&gt; and took it home with me.  I found myself sitting up all hours of the night like I had been since I got the game a week before.  Then I discovered the bonus songs.  Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs.  I loved the song before, but it became embedded in my head. I played the song over and over to a point that I got pretty good at medium level.  Then a certain sweet DJ played the song on their show and kept the tune rolling inside my brain.  I thought a trip to Dimple and finding the CD used for less than$6, then having to return the game to the store would shake it from my head but I was wrong.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;I've been listening to it all week in the car, and now have gotten a friend hooked on it.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;I wish I could play like this person, although that is the same avatar I used.. heh:&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>We Are The Champions!</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Why am I so happy?  Two reasons.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;First- My niece graduated high school yesterday, it seems like it was just yesterday that she was begging me to put The Little Mermaid on for the bazillionth time.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Second - &lt;span&gt;THE ANAHEIM DUCKS WON THE STANLEY CUP&lt;/span&gt;!!!  Why is this a big deal?  Because A - No one in my family likes hockey so it became something that was all mine. and B. I have been teased for 14 years for loving a team that was a concept of Disney.  Yesterday I shed tears of joy twice in one day.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;So for both my niece, Jean and the Ducks, here's a little bit of Mr. Freddie Mercury and Queen from the original Live Aid!&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Cup Crazy Baby!</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;So it's the heat of the &lt;span&gt;NHL&lt;/span&gt; Playoffs and I"m soooo psyched!&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;I am not Canadian, I do not live in a hockey town, I am a hockey freak and a &lt;span&gt;HUGE&lt;/span&gt; Ducks fan!&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The Ducks have just won game 2 with a goal from Sammy Pahlsson with 5:44 left in the 3rd Period.  They now lead the series against the Sens (Sorry Darren), 2-0!&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;In honor of the playoffs, y'all need to re-visit Stompin Tom Connors and The Hockey Song!  w00t!&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;NEW YORK&lt;/span&gt; (Billboard) - As Elliott Smith's "New Moon" CD hits shelves this week, he's not the only lamented singer-songwriter whose material is generating posthumous releases.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Well after their untimely deaths, Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley continue to inspire new generations of fans, and their catalogs continue to grow.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Olympia, Wash.-based indie label Kill Rock Stars is releasing "New Moon," a two-disc set of primarily unreleased material on May 8. Smith, who was found dead in his Los Angeles home in October 2003 -- in a case that remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department -- recorded the songs between 1994 and 1997.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Drake's canon will be expanded with the June 19 release of early recordings on "Family Tree," via Tsunami Entertainment/Fontana. Buckley, who drowned 10 years ago this month, will be back in the spotlight with the May 22 release of "So Real: Songs of Jeff Buckley" (Columbia/Legacy).&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;A reissue of the 1986 Drake boxed set "Fruit Tree" will arrive later this year, with the addition of the documentary "A Skin Too Few."&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Drake, who battled depression throughout his life, overdosed on antidepressants in 1974, at 26. The folk artist left behind only three official studio releases and became a cult favorite. In 2000, the title track to his 1972 album "Pink Moon" was used in a Volkswagen commercial, spurring further interest. That set has gone on to sell nearly 329,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, Buckley's "So Real," compiled by his mother, Mary Guibert, offers a mix of studio and live tracks plus a handful of rarities, including a previously unreleased cover of the Smiths' "I Know It's Over."&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;According to Guibert, there still may be two or three albums worth of material worth releasing at a future date, like a set of Buckley's live radio performances from throughout the world. A live &lt;span&gt;DVD&lt;/span&gt; is in the works, comprising Buckley's various live TV performances of nearly all the songs from "Grace," as is the &lt;span&gt;DVD&lt;/span&gt; release of the documentary "Amazing Grace: Jeff Buckley" (directed by Nyla Bialek Adams and Laurie Trombley).&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Happy Kodomo-no-i or Japanese Boys Day!</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;May 5th, Japanese Boys Day, Mexican Independence Day, My Brother's Birthday!  Wooo Hooo.  Of course for me, the latter is the most important one!  Being Japanese, my mother always thought it was kewl to have her first son born on Japanese Boys Day.  w00t!&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;It's actually considered Japanese Children's Day but it's referred to more as Boys Day Festival since Girls Day is March 3rd.  Families with boys celebrate this day to wish their sons good future. Koi (Carp) streamers are hung outside and samurai dolls put inside the house. They symbolize strength, power and success in life.

      <title>The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;So here's the deal.  I saw The Fast and the Furious and it didn't impress me and when 2 Fast 2 Furious came out, I was like, no way am I wasting my money.  And by the time The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift came out it wasn't even a thought in my mind, but then my niece and 2 nephews kept saying "Auntie, You've got to see Toyko Drift, it's hella tight!".   So I rent it, and I'll be damned if I didn't get hooked.  Its not a great movie but the cars are awesome.  American boy gets in trouble for racing and a girl, sent to live with Navy dad in Japan and finds trouble all over again, but this time he learn how do deal with the mess he's made instead of running from it.
&lt;br /&gt;
Then I found the song Tokyo Drift by the Teriyaki Boyz for my nephews, and at first we were too busy laughing at it to listen.  Fast forward a few months, and I've now watched this movie 3 times in the last week and the song Tokyo Drift is stuck in my head.  For some reason, all I want to do is dance around the room when it's playing so maybe if I toss it all of you, it'll get out of my head! heh

      <title>The Wonder that is Angelique Kidjo</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Have you ever just found certain artists that you fall in love with their music so much you'll beg or borrow (stealing is not an option) to see them if they every come to town?&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;In the last week I've been lucky enough to see two of those, it started with Tyrone Wells last Tuesday and it ended with Josh Groban last night.  Like I told Dale it was &lt;span&gt;AHHHHHHHH&lt;/span&gt;-MAZE-ZING!  Not only does Josh have an truly mesmerizing voice, but he has the personality and sense of humor match.  He kept my sister and I in a amazement for 2 hours last night, we found out that Sacramento has a special place in his heart because he performed his first professional appearance in the same arena we were in 9 years ago at the age of 17.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;What does that have to do with Angelique Kidjo?  If you've heard Josh's latest album, Awake, you'd notice that it has an African influence to it, with a few songs featuring the great Ladysmith Black Mambazo, this stems from a visit to South Africa and a meeting with Nelson Mandela. Josh's opening act was a &lt;span&gt;WONDERFUL&lt;/span&gt; woman named Angelique Kidjo who originally hails from Africa.  He also has songs co-written by Imogen Heap, John Ordrasik (Five for Fighting), Dave Matthews and Herbie Hancock.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Angelique is an four time grammy nominated singer that uses her background to create the most amazing music.  This woman has such an brilliant enigmatic presence on stage.  I guess if you had to describe it with one word it would be &lt;span&gt;ENERGY&lt;/span&gt;, not only from her performance but also with the vibe she emits.   While Josh used the entire stage she used just a small portion that popped out from the front, but she commanded every inch.  What I didn't understand was how the majority of the people could sit so still in their chairs during her performance, I certainly couldn't.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Give her a listen, on her &lt;a href="http://www.kidjo.com"&gt;Official website&lt;/a&gt; or her &lt;a href="http://www.myspace.com/angeliquekidjo"&gt;MySpace site&lt;/a&gt;.  Her new album, Djin Djin is supposed to drop on May 1st with guest artists that including Josh Groban, Carlos Santana, Alicia Keys, Joss Stone, Peter Gabriel, Amadou and Mariam, Ziggy Marley, and Branford Marsalis. She'll open for Josh's tour through the  April 7th, Las Vegas show and then she'll start her own headlining tour.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Tyrone Wells &amp; PawnShop Kings 3-20-07@The Boardwalk, Sacramento, CA </title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;What an amazing show. There were actually four bands: Pointdexter (blech), Brown Shoe (eh, but the bass player was &lt;span&gt;HOT&lt;/span&gt;!, I didn't get a picture), PawnShop Kings (sooooooooooooo amazing), and then Tyrone Wells (beyond amazing!). The Boardwalk is about a 30 min drive from where I live, the total opposite side of town and it was a rainy but traffic wasn't too bad. The ceilings over the bar area and some of the overhead beam in the place are decorated with actual guitars that have been autographed and mounted. I meant to get a picture but for some reason I had the smaller memory card in my camera so I barely got these photos and 6 AVIs. I got one good picture of Tyrone and a shot of one of his beautiful guitars. I've totally turned my friend Heidi into a fan.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;PawnShop Kings did an acoustic set, just the two brothers, Scott and Joel with their two guitars and they were amazing starting off with Carolina and ending with Shine. I mainly went for Tyrone but these guys blew me away.  My friend Heidi kept saying how cute Scott was, and then I pointed out that he looks like the actor, Gerard Butler.  The last song they did "Shine" was so beautiful but it seemed like everyone decided to get all chatty cathy and talk during the entire song, what idiots!&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Tyrone came on with his full band and man did he not disappoint, his sweet, soulful voice is enough to make anyone melt and his smile is contagious.  I'll admit it, I was expecting a great show from him but what he gave was far beyond my expectations.  Along with his songs from the album "Hold On" he also did a cover of "Ain't No Sunshine" and medley that included songs by Stevie Wonder, and Mary J. Blige.  During the intro to one song, while he was explaining about the song's importance and how fortunate we really are compared to those in other countries, a girl wanders up to the front of the stage, then proceeds to answer her phone and talk while he's talking, his eyes kind of turn her direction along with the eyes of everyone else in the place, she hangs up and then leaves, again I say, &lt;span&gt;IDIOT&lt;/span&gt;!  Tyrone closes the show alone on the stage with a guitar and a harmonica with "When All Is Said And Done"  What was nice was the mixed audience that he draws, we saw whole families enjoying the show, not just the teenagers but also parents.  I'd have to say the ages ranged from about 14 - 65 years of ages with everyone rockin' out.  His stories between songs are funny and inspiring, pushing the audience to follow their hearts and their dreams  He even had the whole place yodeling, that was quite amusing.  He's just got this enigmatic presence and you can't help but smile along and get lost in the music.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;After the last band took the stage we headed back to the CD sales area, purchased a couple of CDs, and interacted with PawnShop Kings and Tyrone Wells as well as his band. They were all amazingly sweet each one shaking our hands, asking our names, and thanking us for coming out on a wet Tuesday night. I talked to Tyrone about how I was introduced to him by a friend that's a college DJ in Ohio and plays him on the show and then I copped to swiping a set list, he laughed and before I could ask, he offered to sign it which was so kewl. I kinda of felt guilty until he told me he had done the same with one of Billy Joel's set lists. I got the rest of his band to sign the set list, again, they were so sweet.  Heidi and I were complete opposites after the show, she was so amazed she didn't have words and I was so blown away that I couldn't stop talking, poor Heidi, we were both starving so we hit Denny's, why does it seem like after every concert I get pancakes?? Oh I told Tyrone about &lt;span&gt;MOG&lt;/span&gt; too but I didn't write it down for him, I should have, he sounded interested.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;LOS ANGELES&lt;/span&gt; (Reuters) - Starbucks Corp. said on Monday it has formed its own record label, Hear Music, to develop records for sale both in its coffee shops and through traditional music retailers.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Starbucks' influence as a music retail outlet has grown significantly in recent years, posting its biggest success with the Ray Charles' "Genius Loves Company" album, a co-production with Concord Records that won eight Grammy awards. Concord is also partnering with Starbucks on the new record label.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Starbucks Entertainment is a small but profitable unit of the coffee-shop chain that oversees the sale of music and books in its stores.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The chain has parlayed sales of music compilation CDs into a business that has included deals with musicians such as Alanis Morissette and Bob Dylan for exclusive content. In turn, those sales have helped increase revenue at Starbucks stores.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Hear Music will be based in Los Angeles, and Ken Lombard, president of Starbucks Entertainment, will serve as chief manager, Starbucks said.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Concord President Glen Barros will work closely with Lombard. Concord will also help promote, distribute and market the Hear Music label outside of Starbucks stores.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Hear Music began as a chain of music stores that allow customers to burn custom music CDs and listen to any CD in the store before buying it. Starbucks acquired Hear Music in 1999 and has developed a growing music business around the brand.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;In addition to selling CDs in its coffee shops, Starbucks also has a Hear Music radio station on XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;But executives at record companies were doubtful that Starbucks would do any better at breaking new artists than a traditional label.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"They got the retail and marketing distribution to leverage," said one executive who asked not to be named. "But are they going to sell a million records? No, but they probably don't need to."&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The New York Post and the Associated Press reported on Monday that Starbucks was close to signing former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Artists like McCartney, Charles and Sergio Mendes are seen fitting the Starbucks demographic.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"It'll be interesting when they realize it ain't easy putting out records," said another senior record company executive, who asked not to be named. "Are they really taking a chance? On who? Paul McCartney?"&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Father and Son and the best of both worlds</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Have you ever loved a song and then a remake comes and you fall in love with that version too?&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;One of my favorite Cat Steven's songs growing up was Father and Son. Years ago during the boy band phase (yes I like boy bands), I got into a band called Boyzone. I think I heard that one of the boyz was related to Andrew Lloyd Webber. Anywhoo, Boyzone put out a cover of Father and Son which I also fell in love with. Fast forward to tonight, I'm watching &lt;span&gt;IMF&lt;/span&gt; and this video pops up and again I'm in love. Ronan Keating used to be a member of Boyzone and as most know, Yusuf Islam was formally known as Cat Stevens.  For me, it's the best of both worlds, Ronan Keating featuring Yusuf Islam performing Father and Son. How kewl is that?&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;So I'm checking mail on myspace and notice the trailer for Adam Brody's new movie "In The Land Of Women" and decide to check it out.  Two-thirds of the way through the trailer I recognize a great song called "One Day" by &lt;a href="http://myspace.com/tradingyesterday"&gt;Trading Yesterday&lt;/a&gt;.  I found these guys on myspace awhile back and really fell in love with them.  Their song "Love Song Requiem" for some reason made me well up in tears the first time I heard it.  I uploaded "One Day" because they offer it as a free download on their myspace page, this song was also on the Stealth Soundtrack.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Here's some info from wiki:&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Trading Yesterday is an American Christian pop rock band formed in 2004 by former Evanescence member David Hodges. The band, signed by Epic Records, released their first single, One Day, in the summer of 2005. They have since left Epic and have remained an independent band.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;In 2000, David was asked to join Evanescence as the keyboardist/backing vocals for what would become the album, Origin. After Evanescence had finished recording Fallen in 2002, David left the band to pursue other musical interests.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Mark and David were having dinner at &lt;span&gt;IHOP&lt;/span&gt; in 2003 and decided to start Trading Yesterday. 	&lt;p&gt;"LOS &lt;span&gt;ANGELES&lt;/span&gt; (Reuters) - Disgraced pop duo Milli Vanilli will soon get a movie made about their less-than-spectacular career, following in the cinematic steps of such icons as Ray Charles and Johnny Cash.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Hollywood trade paper Daily Variety reported in its Thursday issue that Universal Pictures is developing a film about the lip-synching combo, who lost their coveted Grammy for best new artist in 1990 when it emerged that they had never sung on their records.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The project will be written and directed for the General Electric Co.-controlled studio by Jeff Nathanson, who previously wrote the Leonardo DiCaprio crime caper "Catch Me If You Can." He has secured the cooperation of Milli Vanilli alumnus Fabrice Morvan, who has been pursuing a comeback for years, as well as the estate of his colleague, Rob Pilatus, who died of a drug overdose in 1998.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"I've always been fascinated by the notion of fakes and frauds, and in this case, you had guys who pulled off the ultimate con, selling 30 million singles and 11 million albums and then becoming the biggest laughing-stocks of pop entertainment," the paper quoted Nathanson as saying."&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>My share for today</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;'k, I'm not the romantic, I've admitted I have a black heart, but amid all the "I hate Valentine's Day" posts, there are a few that are soo beautiful and sweet.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;For me, Josh Groban is one of the few artists I could listen to anytime, anywhere, he has this voice that just puts me in a trance.  I know I've posted about him before, guess what? I'mmmm back!  I've been a fan from early on in his career and he just keeps getting better with age.  His latest album "Awake" is a combination of what got him to his point and what's to come.  He's teamed up with the likes of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Vusi Mahlesela, Herbie Hancock, Imogen Heap, Dave Matthews, and for the song I'm posting he co-wrote with John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting.  From the music box playing in "So She Dances" to the African sounds in "Weeping" back to his traditional sounds in "Mai", this album has it all.  My favorite tracks on this album are: February Song, So She Dances, In Her Eyes, Lullaby and Weeping but really the entire tracklist is amazing.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;I love everything about the video I've posted, from the sounds of his footsteps, the beautiful building, the flecks of color to the sepia feel, but most importantly the song and the voice.  So for all you peeps that share this wonderful world called &lt;span&gt;MOG&lt;/span&gt;, my gift to you on this day is Josh Groban's "February Song".&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;These guys sent me and an add request on myspace and when I checked them out I was instantly hooked.  Here's part of the bio from their website:&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"Gokh-bi, which means Neighborhood (in wolof), was created in March of 1994 in Pikine, Guinaw Rail ("The other side of the track"), a suburb of Dakar, Senegal. Before starting the band, &lt;span&gt;GBS&lt;/span&gt; grew up as friends and brothers sharing an understanding of the meaning of a hard life in poverty. In the early 1990's, Mamadou Ndiaye, a member of the band, introduced &lt;span&gt;GBS&lt;/span&gt; to the culture of hip-hop. &lt;span&gt;GBS&lt;/span&gt; instantly fell in love with hip-hop because it was a form of music that represented life in the ghetto and spoke for people without a voice. At the time &lt;span&gt;GBS&lt;/span&gt; discovered hip-hop, they felt they had a message to share that spoke to the issues of poverty, inequality and injustice. This new form of music gave a voice to our messages of peace, love, justice and community with a powerful sound"&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Meet CoCo Lee</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;So I realized there are a few asian artists I listen to that never really hit it big here for some reason or another.  Although they have a big following in their country most just can't seem to make it here.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;CoCo Lee is Hong Kong born but transplanted in her youth to California.  When she first came out she was compared as an Asian Christina Aguilera, eh people hear different things.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;From Wiki:&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"CoCo Lee was represented by Fancy Pie Records from 1994 to 1995, recording four albums with them, before being picked up in 1996 by Sony, who has continued to represent her ever since. There are claims that her record company does not see much potential in her, a reason for the lukewarm marketing and making of her recent albums since about 2003."&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;C'mon people...that's a bunch of bullocks.  Aren't they in charge of marketing??  I remember when  Just No Other Way was released and there was very minimal marketing for her.  I actually wore out this CD and have been looking for a replacement for it.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The songs you might have heard have both come from movies, The first, A Love Before Time is from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.  This song sends shivers down my spine but the Manderin version actually sends them through my entire body.  Here's a clip of her singing it at the 73rd Annual Academy Awards.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Take another walk with me?</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Last week I took a walk after my nephew's basketball game and posted some pictures of the sunset.  One of the pictures I asked if you could see the riverboat but no one could see it.  :(&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;So after my nephew's game tonight it was a bit lighter so the mutt and I took the trek again. (BTW, they won 46-26, Yay!, and he didn't get hurt, Yay!)&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;I absolutely loved the way the vines were strangling the fence on the overpass&lt;/b&gt;

      <title>Sunset over Sacramento</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;My nephew has basketball games every Sunday and I'm pretty good at attending them, they won 51-30, unfortunately my nephew came down on his ankle pretty bad on the last play and ended up limping afterward :(  It's the 2nd week I took one of my younger nieces with me and to her horror my sister that she was sitting next to was wearing her iPod and rocking out, when my niece said something to the point of "Auntie you're embarrassing" my sister broke out into a chorus of "Big Poppa" and starting cabbage patching in her seat.  Ahh, to humiliate the youth!&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Anywhoo, when I got home I was feelin' well enough to take a walk so I convinced my niece to come with me and the mutt.  I remembered to grab my camera on the way out and this is what I got.  You have to walk over two overpasses to get to where I wanted to go but they're right next to each other, one overpass is for the side street below and the 2nd is for the Interstate.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;span&gt;CANNES&lt;/span&gt;, France (Reuters) - The world's independent music sector which has produced such artists as the Arctic Monkeys, has grouped together to launch an agency to secure licensing deals with emerging media such as MySpace and YouTube.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The group, called Merlin, was launched at the annual MidemNet music industry conference with its backers saying it would become the "fifth major" in the industry.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The launch follows the rapid growth in popularity of sites like YouTube, where fans post video clips carrying their choice of music without permission from copyright holders.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The independent record label sector makes up for 30 percent of the music sold worldwide, with the rest from the four majors -- Vivendi's Universal Music, Sony &lt;span&gt;BMG&lt;/span&gt;, EMI Group and Warner Music.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The group said it would aim to rectify the "poor cousin" status of deals previously offered to independent labels and will address the "growing assumption that, for emerging media, only the four majors need to be licensed, with the rest free to air."&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Merlin Chief Executive Charles Caldas, a former head of Australia's largest independent music and entertainment distributor, said he had already begun talks with new media companies.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"The form of copyright apartheid currently being applied to the value of independent rights is unacceptable," he said in a statement.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"Merlin will enable independents around the world to participate in new licensing and revenue models on competitive terms."&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Alison Wenham, president of World Independent Network, told a news conference in Cannes the agency would allow independent labels to achieve parity with each other and with the majors in getting a fair share of the revenues being generated by new business models.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;As well as copyright issues, music labels are currently having to cope with music piracy and competition for consumer spending. Global music sales are expected to be down around three percent for 2006.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Wenham said the group would be a non-profit, privately-funded organization, based in London. It has already received backing from trade bodies in Europe, Canada, Brazil, New Zealand and Australia.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;She said the group expected to announce its first deal within the next week.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Introducing: Hewit&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;These guys out are out of the Toronto/Hamilton area and I've been listening to them pretty steadily since I've found them on myspace earlier last year. I can hear a mixture of U2 and Live with a touch of the Tragically Hip in their sound.  And toward the end of last year they started playing in college radio stations around the US.&lt;/p&gt;

From everything I've seen and read about this it's truly amazing!&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;I realized as I was listening to these guys that I hadn't shared them with you yet!  What's wrong with me?  This band out of New York ..well.. here's an excerpt from site, they describe themselves better than I can:&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>San Diego Rock n' Roll Marathon</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;My brother-in-law's sister is an avid runner.  She participated in her first Boston Marathon last year and was invited back this year.  At dinner tonight she was telling me about the Rock n' Roll Marathon she's running this June 3rd in San Diego.  She said that there are bands along the way all along the route, so  I did a bit of research and this is the 10th year this marathon will be held.  Now I'm no runner, but I am considering going with her for the bands ::snicker::. 	&lt;p&gt;If you participate as a runner there's a big concert in the evening and to quote the website:&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;Also if you're not a runner it looks like there will be a limited amount of tickets available for sale.  Last year's headliner was Ozomatli.  I thought if any of you music freaks out there happen to be runners, this may be the marathon for you.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Did Hendrix follow the Star Spangled Banner with the Welsh National Anthem?</title>

	&lt;p&gt;"LONDON (AFP) - Jimi Hendrix fans were arguing over whether he followed his famous rendition of the "The Star-Spangled Banner" with a stab at the Welsh national anthem after a mysterious old demo tape emerged.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Producer Dave Chapman stumbled across a squalling electric guitar version of "Land Of My Fathers" on the end of a tape from 1970, which he found at his recording studio in Crouch Hill, north London.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The recording was hidden at the end of a session by a long-forgotten band called the New Flames, whose bass player, Vivian Williams, was good friends with Hendrix.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;It recalls the distorted sound of Hendrix's 1969 performance of the United States national anthem at the Woodstock festival.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;And it is thought almost certain that Hendrix was in London on September 10, when the New Flames recorded their tape.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;This was just over a week before he died at the age of 27.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Chapman found out before his death in 2005 that Williams had brought Hendrix to a pub next door to the Crouch Hill studio days before the guitarist died.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The party drank into the small hours thanks to an after-hours lock-in laid on by the landlord.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Could Hendrix have recorded the Welsh anthem that night? No-one knows, and fans debating the issue on the internet are split.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The tape is now owned by former record producer Martin Davies, who inherited it from Chapman on his death.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;He is attempting to track down Vivian Williams, who originally came from the town of Crickhowell, south Wales, and is now thought to be aged 64, in a bid to clear up the mystery.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Ska Band upset at Coca-Cola</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, it still makes a sound.  So why did Coca-Cola think that making a commerical with music from a British ska band to air in Argentina without the permission of the band would be okay?&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Story from the AP&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;LONDON&lt;/span&gt; - Coca-Cola Co. may be making an unsigned London ska band famous in Argentina, but the band isn't happy about it.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The band, called 7 Seconds of Love, says Coke used their song "Ninja" and the video that goes with it without permission in a South American commercial for Coca-Cola Light.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The band learned of the advertisement when a fan asked about it. The discovery, lead singer Joel Veitch said, led to "righteous fury followed by deep irritation."&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"Initially, we didn't think much about it, because we don't get Argentine television here," Veitch said. "It was when it turned up on the Internet that we went, `Oh my god.'"&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"To sound like us is OK. To look like us is OK. But it's the two together where it becomes a problem," he said.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The band doesn't want to take Coca-Cola to court, Veitch said, and couldn't afford a legal battle anyway because of their "extremely shallow pockets." Also, all the band's members have day jobs.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"The Coca-Cola Light spot in question was commissioned to a local advertising agency, Santo Buenos Aires SA, which assured Coca-Cola Argentina that each element of the advertisement was original," Kelly Brooks, a spokesman for Atlanta-based Coca-Cola, said Wednesday.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;"Coca-Cola de Argentina acted in good faith in accepting the work, but in light of the allegations has asked Santo Buenos Aires to fully research and resolve this matter."&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Veitch said 7 Seconds of Love wanted to reach a sensible settlement with Coca-Cola.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>I shocked myself</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;I was exhausted last night after the family New Year's celebration.  So get home, and I'm checking the myspace account and I get a message from my friend that says "I need your help, &lt;span&gt;IM ME&lt;/span&gt;".  Pop up the IM and she's like, "I need your help and if anyone can do this it's you". She goes on to tell me that she heard this song and she doesn't  &lt;span&gt;WANTS&lt;/span&gt; it really bad but doesn't know what its called.  She sends me to Pharrell's myspace profile and tells me to check out the video and what part to listen to.  It's basically some of his beats and I don't recognize it.  I'm thinking to myself, "man, she's got way more confidence in me than I do".  She goes on to tell me that she's heard it on someone's page and in an HP commercial and she throws this at me.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;I'm still at a loss, so I listen to the commercial a few times, so I can embed the beat in my head and head over to iTunes, start listening to the previews and I tell her, I think its the instrumental version of "Baby".  She then tells me, but it has words, but she doesn't know them.  So I do a search for the lyrics and send her a link to them and I get, "THAT'S &lt;span&gt;ITTTTTTTTTTTTTT&lt;/span&gt;!".  She's happy, I download the song, send it to her, she dancing around her room in Chicago with the song on repeat.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;I'm about to shut the puter down for the night and ::BING:: the light bulb goes off in my head.  During the commercial, he says "I see music to, here's what "Baby" looks like" and then he draws her outline.  D'oh, he tells you the name of the damn song, I was just too stupid it realize it!&lt;/p&gt;</description>

	&lt;p&gt;These guys out of Fairfax VA are rockin' all over the Washington D.C. area! I heard them for the first time on a &lt;span&gt;FOX&lt;/span&gt; show, I'm pretty sure it was Summerland and since then I've been hooked. They're the first band I looked for when I joined myspace. I have a friend that lives in Maryland and I turned him on to the band, he then told a friend about them and has now informed me that I've turned his friend into a major Welbilt fan, I was even got a T-shirt out of the deal! If you live in the area, I've been told they put on a great show.       <description>&lt;p&gt;I'm on a curiosity kick so bear with me.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The question of &amp;quot;great&amp;quot; bands has arisen. Nirvana is considered a &amp;quot;great&amp;quot; band because they helped change the sound of music, but like a few people have remarked, would they have retained that &amp;quot;greatness&amp;quot; had Kurt Cobain not killed himself?  Someone mentioned Third Eye Blind, who's sound was different at the time, but are they considered &amp;quot;great&amp;quot; when it's known that they perform poorly live? Another mentioned was the Gin Blossoms, and although I happen to &lt;span&gt;LOVE&lt;/span&gt; the Gin Blossoms, they're no longer creating new material, but a portion of them are still touring, so are the considered &amp;quot;great&amp;quot;?&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;What are some of the criteria for &amp;quot;greatness&amp;quot; in an artist/band?&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Dale started the definition of terms:&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;"ATLANTA - James Brown, the legendary singer known as the "Godfather of Soul," has died, his agent said early Monday. He was 73.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Brown was hospitalized with pneumonia on Sunday at Emory Crawford Long Hospital and died around 1:45 a.m. Monday, said his agent, Frank Copsidas of Intrigue Music. Longtime friend Charles Bobbit was by his side, he said.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Copsidas said Brown's family was being notified of his death and that the cause was still uncertain. "We really don't know at this point what he died of," he said."&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Glory Road</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;My niece bought the movie Glory Road when it came out and lent it to me, she knows I'm a huge Disney freak, both animated and non, and told me I'd love it.  I've had this movie of hers for so long she forgot she bought it, but I finally watched it yesterday and like she said, I loved it.  The movie is about Don Haskins, a coach in a small division I college that chose to play 7 african americans on his team in 1966, the first coach to ever do this, and helped break down the barriers in college basketball.  The bonus features in this movie are as great as the movie itself, testaments from both Don Haskins and the 1966 team.  As cynical and negative I am, I happen to love feel good movies and this one was no exception.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;Another plus to this movie is the soundtrack, in includes some wonderful older songs and a few sung by Alicia Keys.  I'm not a big Alicia Keys fan, I do feel she's very talented but for some reason I've just never gotten into her.  That changed with this soundtrack, there's a song I absolutely love called "Glory Road", how this song can be haunting and uplifting at the same time just blows me away.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;I myself have only been here a few days short of a month but I feel like I've found a family.  A family in the way of music freaks.  You've got the Metalheads, Emo Mongers, Vinyl lovers, Indie purists, Country kickers, Pop fanatics, Disco ducks, RAWKers, Ambient Illusionists, Be-Bop babies, Hip Hop homies, Rap renegades, Crooner cats, Jazz hipsters. R&amp;#38;B swayers and the list goes on and on.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The best part is, one person can be all of these and more.  You've got the goofballs, and the political activists, the college crowd and the worker bees, the youth and the well, not so young but always young at heart, the lurkers and the talkers.  We join together to form this community of love and respect for one of the things every country has in common and that's &lt;span&gt;MUSIC&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;As you already know, music is life and for ever emotion there is a genre.  Some of the best people I've met in here, if left to other places would say we have low compatiblity but they're wrong.  Their favorite genre maybe different than yours but the love for the music is the same.  You'll be find some new music and be introduced to some old.  So take a seat, kick off your shoes, show respect, open your mind and most importantly have fun.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;You too will be transMOGrified, into a Mogger.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

To which I had to ask, do I listen to any metal?  Through a couple of emails it was determined, yes, I do indeed listen to metal, I happen to love Breaking Benjamin.  I also love H.I.M., you might recognize &lt;a href="http://mog.com/Marta"&gt;Marta's&lt;/a&gt; avatar as their heartagram.  These guys hail from Finland which produces some wonderfly talented hockey players and is the orgin of my name.  Although my name is a made up word, it's made of two Finnish words and I've been told the translation isn't literal but it works for me.  Mutteri = Nut, Mieli = Case and it describes me to the tee.       <title>Questioning Coldplay</title>

I mean there are a few songs I like including the one I tagged this post with, but in general, I'm really not too impressed.  They remind me of Beyonce, not the style but to the point where everything just kind of sounds the same.  I see on so many lists not just here but on other sites that Coldplay is one of most frequently listed bands that people love, and hey, everybody has the right to love what they makes them happy, but maybe I'm missing something?&lt;/p&gt;</description>

One of the things I love about this movie was the song, I've Never Been To Me by Charlene, not the most glamours subject but I still loved it.  The song is featured as the opening sequence where Hugo Weaving's character does a lip sync to the track.  Enjoy!&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;In the 80's I was into the normal pop like everyone else, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Thompson Twins, The Go-Go's etc., but one of my favorite bands was and still is Hiroshima.  They mix Jazz with Asian Fusion and the output is completely incredible. They use traditional Japanese instruments like the Koto and Taiko Drums and combine them with piano, sax, guitars etc.   I've seen them live a few times and they are so amazing, they always seem to have a different singer but the overall sound is never disrupte
