Another Bob Florence original is the song “Nadie” which strikes a gently reflective backing by Bob Florence with strings and the sad melancholy sound of Don Shelton (who was also a singer and a multi-instrumentalist) on soprano sax. Carr sings beautifully, tenderly with passionate involvement.

Years ago I would never have guessed I would like this kind of music. I must be getting soft in my old age. I agree with your paragraph.
Around 25 years ago I brought some 45's I didn't need into a used record store that specialized in punk and new wave, and the young guy behind the counter figured out how much to give me for them. Then his boss, who was also younger than me, walked up and lambasted him for accepting a Vikki Carr record. "FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, IT'S VIKKI CARR! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
